always a project or two around here!

Happy Sunday!

It?S been so great right here in Newport, and the mornings and most of the day were genuinely pretty cool and it?S certainly starting to sense like fall.

I?M simply expecting that ?Indian Summer? Climate to kick in one among in recent times, however in the intervening time, it?S been extremely first-rate here, and best for working on a few things across the residence.

I form of simply wanted to show you what I’ve been up to this week…

Please excuse those pictures I took with my cellphone. They?Re a little flat and just had been intended to expose my mom the development on the cloth wardrobe in my dining room that I painted with milk paint remaining week.

But matters are finally coming collectively in this humorous little dining room of ours. It truly only has one wall, and this is it. The relaxation of the fringe of this room opens up to the living room, kitchen nook and hallway.

So at the same time as my husband was out of town remaining week, I spent 3 entire days sanding, portray and waxing this piece [e]. It become at the beginning part of a ?Suite? Of furniture from my husband?S nana and it really works flawlessly in this room.

I observed the reflect [a] some months in the past at my favourite neighborhood thrift store. At first, I thought I scored a fab vintage, however after I became loading it in my automobile, I noticed it turned into marked Pier One! I balanced each aspect of the mirror with a pair of vintage majolica lamps [d], additionally from nana. All they wished where some new oval lampshades.

A few of my favored black and white plates [b] stability out the look on each side. These are only a collection of some of my favorites that I select up here and there. And a grouping of white books [c] acts as a centerpiece, for now.

Here?S me just snapping a touch % to show my mom this lovely cord basket [c] I had just scored at an estate sale a couple of minutes before! Only six dollars, and I just quick crammed it with a few velvet pumpkins [d]. I surely located these at Home Goods, and guess what? I pulled off the plastic stems and hot glued some real ones on!

Ssshhh? Don?T tell every body! Did you already know they really sell real pumpkin stems on ebay? Yah, properly now all of us understand!

Reflected within the replicate, you can see another one in every of my favored collectibles, round convex mirrors [a]. If they?Re brown when I discover them, I generally paint them white with gold accents, however if they?Re already black or cr?Me coloured, I commonly let them be.

The oval replicate [b] is a own family heirloom, probably French.

This little vase of blush coloured roses is a sneak peek at one of the different tablescapes I put together this week. I?Ll fill you in on it soon!

I?M currently running on an extremely good Halloween tablescape in my eating room that?S packed with plenty of spooky antique accents.

When I saw this blue and white entry on Instagram , I “instantly” fell in love with it and thought this look would be perfect for my front entry, since I already have similar wainscoting.

I?M on my manner to Farrow and Ball this morning to look at their wallpapers?

I recently found out through Ancestry that I’m not only 68% Italian, but I’m also 19% French! Ooh la la ! News to me! (They recently updated their DNA data.)

So when I spotted this cute French inspired side door in the neighborhood, it just spoke my language, and I couldn’t resist taking a quick pic. Those French doors, shutters and the little iron gate are just darling!
